New Testament Tutor

 

Helen-Ann joined the full-time staff as Tutor in New Testament, Biblical Studies co-ordinator, and Course Director for the BTh in January 2009.  Following her ordination in 2005, she held curacies in the benefices of Wheatley and the Parish of Littlemore in the Cowley Deanery of Oxford, where she is still attached.  She studied Theology at the University of St Andrews, followed by two years in the United States: one year doing a ThM at Princeton Theological Seminary, and one year as a pastoral intern at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Wilmington, Delaware.  After that she came to Oxford to undertake further graduate study in Jewish Studies and the New Testament, completing her DPhil examining aspects of the portrayal of manual labour in Judaism and Early Christianity with particular reference to the letters of Paul. She is a regular contributor to BBC local radio, BBC Radio Ulster, and has been an advisor to the Religion and Ethics department at the BBC in Manchester.  She holds a research fellowship at Harris Manchester College, Oxford.

Helen-Ann is married to Myles who is an organist. She likes listening to all types of music, and outdoor activities.
