Cuddesdon welcomes Bishops' Inspection
Ripon College Cuddesdon and Oxford Ministry Course is pleased to welcome the Bishops’ Inspection Report, published in June 2009. The College, in common with other theological training institutions, is subject to a thorough inspection process every five years. The most recent one took place between January and March of 2009. All aspects of the community are examined, including worship, teaching, formation, management, leadership, facilities and academic standards. Cuddesdon would like to thank the Inspectors for their professional, rigorous, respectful and incisive insights.
The Report is very positive, and affirms the breadth and diversity of the community, as well as the many strengths of the institution, and a significant number of areas which demonstrate excellence. The Conclusion states:
"Ripon College Cuddesdon and the Oxford Ministry Course combine to make a thriving, vibrant single institution providing excellent residential and non-residential theological education and training for ministry. The institution is distinguished by the rich community life, the pastoral care of students, and the quality of theological learning and ministerial training. It is also outstanding in preparing future ministers who are effective reflective practitioners."
The Principal, The Revd Canon Prof. Martyn Percy, said "The Inspection has been an edifying, informative and constructive exercise for the College. We have some helpful recommendations for areas of improvement, as well as having strengths and richness recognised. We are very grateful to the Inspectors for their care and consideration in producing the Report".
