September Supplement

Welcome to you all. And on behalf of all the staff, we do hope you had a good summer break. Term begins for new OMC students on Saturday 18 September, and for new residential students on Thursday 23 September. We are expecting around fifty new students to join us at the beginning of the new academic year for residential, non-residential and mixed-mode training. Please pray for all those preparing to begin their training and formation at Cuddesdon, and for those who are continuing.

There will be over 125 sponsored students in ministerial training this year. This will inevitably create some additional pressures on space and time, so please do bear with us as we settle into our rhythm and routine for the term.

Timetables and Calendars: For all new and returning students, there are separate timetables and calendars to consult that cover the first few weeks of term. Please keep a special eye out for the various events…and if you have any questions, please do ask.

Staff: We are pleased to welcome the Rt. Revd. Professor Stephen Pickard, and his wife Jenny. Stephen will be Directing OxCEPT for this year, and assisting with our teaching. The Revd. Dr. Joanna Collicutt will be half-time from 1 September. Please could we also ask for your continued prayers for Gerald, who is continuing to undergo treatment.

News: We have had a good year of academic results, in the Norrington Table, our average would have placed us between St John's and New College, and we came top of the Permanent Private Halls (PPH’s). We will have our usual stall at the Greenbelt Festival over the August Bank Holiday. Please do pray for all those going, and for our stall in the G-Source marquee.

My Diary: I will be away in Hong Kong from 2 - 9 September on College business. My ‘Prayer for the Day’ broadcasts for this week are now available on the BBC Radio Four I-Player.

Reception and Administration: Things are always busy at the beginning of a new academic year, and with new changes too, please could we ask you to be extra patient as we adjust to the revised working patterns. Please do all you can to support Vanda, Julie and the team during this time.

General Notice (Residential Community): The Parish Council would like to remind all residents that the right colour-coded rubbish and recycling bins should only be put out on the day the refuse collectors come.

Appeal: Please look out for the notices this term that will update and inform you on all the latest news…the plans for a new chapel, launch events, prayer, support…and how you can get involved and help. There is a lot going on at the moment, and your prayers are particularly asked for those Trusts, Funding and Grant-making bodies to whom we have applied.
