Dr Martin Hodson (Principal Tutor and Co-director) is Principal Lecturer in Environmental Biology at Oxford Brookes University. He has been involved in the Christian environmental movement since 1990.
Rev. Philip Wagstaff (Senior Tutor of the Certificate and Co-director) is a Methodist minister who has worked in three rural circuits in Norfolk, North East Essex and Devon over the past 19 years. At present as well as being a Circuit Minister he is the Methodist Rural Officer for the Plymouth and Exeter Methodist District.
Rev. Dr John Reader (Senior Tutor of the Diploma) is currently a parish priest in 4 rural parishes in the Diocese of Worcester. He also works for the Industrial Mission Team and has a wide experience of rural ministry and theological education, all of which are reflected in a number of recent publications.
Revd Andrew Teal is the link person between CRES and Ripon College Cuddesdon. He is a tutor at Ripon College Cuddesdon, and is Chaplain at Pembroke College, Oxford.
Collaborating organisations
Christian Rural Concern (CRuC) has promoted rural courses since 1986. In 2002 it launched a Diploma course in Christian Rural Studies to follow the Certificate. Membership is open to all who have a concern for the rural church, rural communities, and the environment - subscription £5.00. Countrywide Care published twice a year is sent free to all students, tutors and members.
The John Ray Initiative (JRI) founded in 1998, works to develop a Christian understanding of the environment, and to promote environmental stewardship, through research, education, conferences and publications.
Ripon College Cuddesdon validate the course, and provide facilities for our meeting.
