'Living Church in the Global City' Report Launch

We would like to bring to your attention the launch of the Report ‘Living Church in the Global City’, which took place at Heythrop College on 4th December 2008.  Please find attached a press release concerning an executive summary of the Report.

‘Living Church in the Global City’ reports on research carried out at Heythrop College, University of London. Heythrop’s ARCS project (Action Research: Church & Society), in collaboration with OxCEPT (Oxford Centre for Ecclesiology & Practical Theology) at Ripon College Cuddesdon, investigated the mission outreach of church and church-related groups, both Roman Catholic and Anglican, mainly in the London area – the global city - between 2006 and 2008.  The report describes seven church-related groups (Roman Catholic and Anglican), ranging from diocese-wide agencies to parish communities to a national charity. It looks at their outreach work of community renewal, evangelisation and social action in the context of London as one of today’s ‘global’ cities.
