11am on Wednesday 23rd to after lunch on Friday 25th October 2024
A two-night Retreat for those who are coming up to retirement or have recently retired from full time ministry. We will explore the transition from work based ministry to retirement ministry, whatever that might mean for you.
We will not be offering solutions or pat answers to the varied responses we have to this challenging time of life. We hope to offer a safe space for reflection on our own experience, exploring our deeper feelings about the transition, sharing our stories with others, in large and small group contexts, so as to learn from and encourage each other. There will also be the opportunity for one-to-one conversation with experienced Spiritual Accompaniers.
We will worship sometimes with the gathered community of the College and sometimes as a small group. There will be space to reflect and create with art resources provided for you.
The retreat will be co-led by Rev. Philip Mader-Grayson, recently retired Baptist minister, and Canon Andrew Meynell, longer-retired Anglican Priest. Both are experienced spiritual directors.
Feedback from 2023 participants include:
"It was a very inspiring few days."
"The retreat was terrific, much more than I could have ever hoped for."
"It was a very good and well run event, giving time to reflect and a great deal of support on the questions we all face."
Cost: £160, to include the programme, accommodation and meals.
