Cuddesdon Gloucester & Hereford (CGH)

Training community

On this pathway, you will be training alongside candidates for lay ministries, members of the Gloucester diocese Ministry Experience Scheme, and independent students: these different student groups make for a rich diversity within our student body. With deep roots in the dioceses we serve, you will get to know the people, resources and partnerships of your diocese, as well as becoming part of the large and supportive network of the CGH community.

On the weekends and week-long residential held at Cuddesdon, you will also encounter other part-time students on the other regional courses, pioneer ministers as they train in partnership with Church Mission Society, people training as licensed lay ministers, as well as visiting preachers and scholars. Connecting with these diverse networks of people will help build your appreciation of distinct vocations and will prepare you for collaborative ministry in the future.

Where will I train

The administrative centre for this Pathway is based in Gloucester but there are two training locations so that you can choose whichever is closest.

Gloucester: The term-time study evening takes place on a Thursday at St Mary de Crypt, Gloucester. Weekends and week-long residentials take place at Cuddesdon. Students have access to libraries at St Mary de Crypt and Ripon College Cuddesdon.

Hereford: The term-time study evening takes place on a Wednesday at Ludlow Mascall Centre, Lower Galdeford, Ludlow. Weekends and week-long residentials take place at Cuddesdon. Students have access to the libraries of the Ludlow Mascall Centre, Hereford Cathedral Library and Ripon College Cuddesdon.

Before you Apply

We welcome potential students to drop in as guests and get a taste of what we do, or to come for a 'trial module' and see how study will fit into their existing lives.

Come and join us for a study evening: we meet during term-time on Thursdays in Gloucester and Wednesdays in Ludlow. For details and to let us know your are coming, please contact our pathway administrator, Nigel Hughes, 01452 874969 or [email protected].
