For each day, we’ll use the life and work of each figure to explore some themes which were of crucial importance to them and the Church at the time, and which are especially timely for the Church today. No previous knowledge is required.
St Cyril of Alexandria - The Unity of Christ
St Cyril of Alexandria (c. 378 - 444 AD) was a consummate ecclesiastical politician, theologian and biblical commentator and best known as a key player in the 5th century Christological crisis in the run-up to the important Council of Chalcedon (451 AD). Why was Cyril so adamant about the unity of Christ and what does it even mean?
