Jaime is Tutor in Theology with a focus on preaching, doctrine, and theological reflection. She holds theology degrees from the Universities of Edinburgh and Durham, and was first ordained in the Scottish Episcopal Church before moving to Oxford. Jaime’s doctoral work focussed on the methodological intersection of science, religion, and literature, and her ongoing research interests include ecotheology, earth-based spiritualities, and mythology within religious belief and practice. 

Jaime’s publications include Atwood, Ecology, and Spirit: Literary Approaches to Science and Religion (Claremont Press, 2023), ‘Can Religion Save the Planet? Looking for Hope within the Eco Religions of Climate Fiction’, in Science and Religion in Western Literature: Critical and Theological Studies, edited by Michael Fuller (Routledge, 2023), and ‘Christian Hope Grounded in the Earth and Cosmic in Scope’ Scottish Episcopal Institute Journal (2023). 

Jaime has previously taught on Edinburgh University’s online MSc in Philosophy, Science and Religion and worked as a stipendiary priest within the Scottish Episcopal Church. Jaime lives on campus at Ripon College Cuddesdon and enjoys spending time with her daughter, walks in nature, and a good late-night blether on the significance of science fiction and fantasy for popular spirituality.
