The Poetry of Pilgrimage

11am on Wednesday 7 - 4pm on Friday 9 October 2026

A three-day Christian retreat exploring healing, hope and the journey of faith with Michael Mitton

Pilgrimage is more than travelling to a sacred place—it is a way of walking with God.

Whether or not you've ever walked an ancient pilgrimage route, this retreat invites you to discover the wisdom pilgrimage offers for everyday life. Drawing on years of leading pilgrimages to early Christian sites in Ireland, Britain and Assisi, Michael will help us explore how the stories of early Christian pilgrims can renew our own walk of faith today.

Through teaching, worship, silence, conversation and personal reflection, you'll have space to slow down, listen to God, and discover fresh hope for the journey ahead.

Together we'll explore:

  • Pilgrims of the Spirit
  • Pilgrims of Healing
  • Pilgrims of the Dark
  • Pilgrims of Hope

Who is this retreat for

  • Christians longing to deepen their spiritual life
  • Anyone navigating change or transition
  • Those who appreciate Celtic spirituality and Christian history

  • Anyone who simply needs time away with God

Who is your retreat leader
